The course covers the self-employment part of your tax return, so if you have other sections to complete this is not covered.

There will be a Facebook group for everyone on the challenge where you can ask for help if you are struggling, or celebrate your wins every time you complete a step. Week by week you will do a little bit more towards your goal of having your tax return completed.

Being in the Facebook group will keep you motivated and give you the support of knowing there are others doing the same. During this challenge Ashley will offer spreadsheets for your financial information, and answer questions. She shares all those great SBM qualities where we believe that by building each other up we are all winners.

Who is it not for?

Limited companies. We can help you with your tax return but not limited company accounts. Ask if it is for you.

VAT registered organisations.

People who have accountants to do this for them.

Is it just for mums? No. We work with all business women at Scottish Business Mums. This challenge is open even wider and men can join too.

Self-employed people, freelancers and contractors.

People who work for a direct sales company.

Anyone who completes a self-assessment tax return.

Anyone who has ruined their January in the past with the silly tax season and is on track to do it again.

We are concentrating on Tax year 6th April 17 to 5th April 18, due to be completed by 31st January 2019.

Don’t worry if you are new to this and not sure what that means, it will all be explained to you at the start.

If you were self-employed before 6th April 17 you need this.

If you started after that it will help you get you numbers in order and be all organised and ahead of the game.

What happens next?

There are six lessons, you can work at your own pace.

When you complete all the work you will have everything you need to complete the self-employed part of your tax return.

We will then offer you a review service (at an extra cost) you can choose to have a final check before you send your return away, simply complete it yourself or take it to another accounts professional.
